Welcome to my Spring home tour! I was so excited when my friend Bree from Z Design at Home asked if I would like to join an amazing group of bloggers and share my home! If you are new to my blog, thank you for stopping by! If you are just joining me from A Thoughtful Place I am so happy to have you, I adore Courtney’s style, she’s a tough act to follow! There are so many talented women in this tour, get ready for loads of inspiration! Just read through each post, and we will link you to the next person.
I decided to include some simple ways I welcome spring to my home as part of my tour. I am a busy mom of four so simplicity is key to ensuring sanity in our home. First I decided what colors and or textures I wanted to incorporate in my home this spring. My husband gave me the most beautiful pink and white lilies for Valentines day and I have been obsessed with pink ever since! I am so happy that I am able to include a lot more color in my home this year. I joined the One Room Challenge and revamped my family room last fall, you can see the before photos and read all about that HERE . If you read it, then you know why the decision to participate lead me (and I’m sure many others) to question my sanity. It worked out perfectly and I couldn’t be more excited to share this tour with you today!
Let’s start with some tips,
Tip # 1
Add some color to your space. Decide what colors you would like to use and incorporate them throughout your home. This year I chose pinks and fuchsia I only used a few splashes of color, just enough to add a little pep to the space.
I know I said simplicity is key, however, I procrastinated a little too long on ordering the pillows I wanted so I ended up grabbing fabric from Joannes and making my own. It really only took me about an hr to do, and that was including reading the manual for my sewing machine because it’s been so long since I pulled it out 😂.
These are some of the pillows I was eyeing before I broke down and decided to make my own
The fabric I chose compliments the art over my fireplace by Christie Adelle
Tip #2
Bring the outdoors in by adding a little green. Pantone’s color of the year for 2017 happens to be “Greenery”, a great way to add some green is by adding some plants, flowers, or even clippings from your yard. I prefer to use branch clippings from my yard however, here in Northern Utah we are still experiencing snow storms 😏. So it’ll be some weeks before I’ll be able to go out and gather spring blossoms so I used a mixture of real flowers and faux stems.
Some of my favorite faux stems can be found in the slider below
One of my favorite ways to add “life” to a room is by adding a Fiddle leaf fig tree. This one happens to be real. I don’t know how, but I’ve managed to keep it alive for over a year. If you don’t have a green thumb then a faux tree may be a good option for you. I have one in our home office and I don’t think anyone would be able tell the difference unless they touched it.

Tip #3
Breathe new life into your home by switching out some accessories. I usually go through a transition period after the Holidays, I like having a clean slate when Christmas decor comes down. By adding a few new accessories you can freshen your space. If you aren’t quite ready for blossoming branches consider adding some new accessory items.
Look for items like Trays, decorative boxes, coral, coffee table books, and ginger jars. You can find links to some of these items below.
Tip #4
Bring spring to your kitchen by adding Fresh flowers, or a bowl of fruit, that may not seem very original, but you can take it to the next level by using a pretty bowl or vase. I collect a lot white, dishes, vases, and cake plates because they are so versatile.
I found the vase, marble cake plate, and pink bunny pitcher at HomeGoods.
When life gives you lemons… you find your prettiest bowl 😉 (square bowl and silver and white bowl also from HomeGoods)
Kitchen Sources
I like to have a good selection of vases on hand, both colored and clear. Clear are usually my go to for fresh flowers, while white or opaque vases are great to hide those faux stems. I rounded up some of my favorite vases to share with you.
Tip #5
Cheer up unexpected spaces such as the laundry room or guest bath, by adding some spring flowers.

Jen, this couldn’t be more stunning!!! I’m loving your spring home so much and I couldn’t be more excited to have you on this tour!! Thanks for participating❤ And I love your handy work on those gorgeous pillows…you’ll have to teach me how to sew some day. Happy spring sweet friend and I hope we can do this again Soon😍
Bree, I am so blessed and grateful that you asked me to join! I am happy that I was able to get my butt in gear and get my spring on before our trip. I have a lot to learn about sewing pillows but I’m happy the basic square ones I whipped out did the trick! It’s been so fun meeting up with you and doing this tour, I hope we have lots more opportunities! XO -Jen 😘
Jen, great job on your pillows! I like yours better than the ones you were looking at! Your house looks amazing!
Awe thanks Missy! I’m kind of sad you aren’t here so I can come make them at your house, I miss that! I hope I get to see you soon! 💗
Jen your home looks so beautiful! And I’m super impressed by your fiddle leaf fig prowess (and your pillow making skills) - I lack the ability to do either!
Lol I can’t remember, did I mention my fiddle fig is in the same pot (the temp plastic one) it was in when I purchased it?? IDK how it is still alive?! Also, I am so glad you can’t see any details on the pillows, they are far from perfect 🙈😂.
Jen, all those pink pops are perfection and I’m so impressed you sewed your own pillows! Hoping y’all have the absolutel best time this weekend <3
Hi Kelley! I am just now trying to catch up on this post, it’s been such a crazy few days! Thank you so much! The pink makes me so happy! My pillows aren’t so impressive in person though 🙈😂. I so wish you could have been here! Maybe next time! XX 💗
Beautiful! Can you please let me know where is your sofa from?
Hi Priya, the Sofa is made by Bernhardt I believe it’s the Clinton sofa.
